The clinical training program at the CATP offers opportunities for clinical mental health training with onsite supervision from licensed mental health therapists. The Counseling Internship Program is for Master’s level students who are pursuing a degree in counseling. We offer Practicum and Internship experiences for qualified candidates who are in good standing with their respective University programs. This training site operates with affiliation agreements with university programs to meet the requirements for the respective degrees. CATP is organized to meet experience placement requirements for CACREP-accredited training programs. We have also served students in COMAFTE-accredited programs.
CATP is a “high touch” training environment where there are multiple opportunities for direct observation and supervision.. We have a structured training approach that begins with clinical interviewing and case conceptualization and unfolds into graduated counseling experiences according to the individual student’s mastery of counseling skills, clinical interests, and professional development. This is all done under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.
Counseling at the Peaks has a rich history of growth and dedication to supporting our community. Founded in 2008 by Rick and three passionate interns, we expanded in 2012 with a dedicated counseling facility to better serve our clients. Dr. Piper brought his expertise to the team in 2017, and in 2024, we proudly became an incorporated organization. Over the years, more than 150 interns have completed our program, contributing to our mission of providing compassionate and professional care.
